The presence of the fast food industry in foreign countries could easily cause a world wide obesity problem and it is not easy to cure; because of the way we evolved humans retain fat very efficiently. Fast food becomes even more attractive to consumers because of the large portions for low prices. Obesity has been linked to a countless number of medical problems. Obesity is the second largest cause of death in America, is this what the rest of the world is destine to turn into? In Great Britain as the number of fast food restaurants increases so does the obesity rate. The same statistics prove true in Japan, where American fast food companies have changed their previously healthy diet to one full of fat and calories. The amount of exercise that America is getting is going down due to new technology. Organizations such as Green Peace have waged a war against fast food companies, especially those targeting children. A pamphlet was published making many accusations about the McDonald’s corporation. The three men responsable were later sued for libel. McDonald’s hired spies to become accepted members of the green peace association and gain information. The case ended up in the Europen court of appeals and McDonald’s was becoming frustrated by all the negative publicity.

Fast food in China is changing their life style. The Chinese are becoming more ad more addicted to the high speed meas that fast food provides. In Beijing 27.8% of children are over weight. The number of obese people in China raises by the thousands daily. Modernization is causing health problems in foreign countries and fast food industry is to blame.

The presence of McDonald’s and other fast food restaurants has inspired foreign countries to build their own fast food companies. Many of these companies are more successful then the American businesses they were modeled after.The revenue created from these businesses is estimated to be somewhere around $147.0 billion in 2016. Fast food is becoming a vital part of foreign economies, creating countless numbers of jobs. These foreign nations have taken fast food and adapted it to their culture keeping the idea of fast food but changing the restaurant. The spread of fast food has now created jobs and stimulated foreign economies. Along with the fast food companies come other industries such as french fry manufacturers and cattle farmers.
